Common questions

Which way should my desk face?

Start with the structural rules in our desk placement checklist, then refine with your personal Kua working direction.

Is sitting with my back to the door really a problem?

It is the most common home-office feng shui complaint: it is hard to settle in when you cannot see who is walking in. The usual fix is to angle or shift the desk so the door sits in your peripheral view. If the room will not allow it, a small mirror placed to catch the doorway is the standard workaround.

Is facing a wall bad for focus?

Facing a wall is not forbidden, but it tends to feel closed-in over a long workday. The usual fix is to turn the desk so you face into the room with a solid wall behind you. If a wall is your only option, raise the monitor to eye level and add a lighter visual anchor — a low shelf or a piece of art — so your sight line does not dead-end.
